Taka has red eyes, but is overall wholesome. Peko had red eyes, and is a pretty good person. Gundham has red eyes, but is a pretty good person despite everything he says about himself. Izuru has red eyes, and is debatably more evil than Junko. Gonta has red eyes, and is considered one of the most wholesome characters in the franchise.

It's shown characters in moments of true despair and true hopelessness tend to lose their eye colours or shading and eye shines. This is mainly seen in the danganronpa anime, when chiaki looses her hope or when miaya died, their eyes both go a light grey, dull colour.
